ARCHITECTURE SECTOR

Your portfolio deserves
more than a PDF.

Your projects speak for you, provided people see them. A premium portfolio website turns your work into a direct sales argument, qualifies enquiries and establishes your architectural signature.

THE SITUATION

Why a portfolio website is an architect’s number-one tool

The visual guide

A project is understood through images and context

  • See the finished work

Optimised photographs and navigation by project.

  • Understand your role

A factual project page, project types and verified professional information.

  • Prepare an enquiry

The project type, location and timeframe needed for the first conversation.

The portfolio remains the priority. Qualification features are scoped with the practice.

For a client considering a renovation, new building or interior fit-out, the portfolio quickly conveys your style, project types and way of working. Clear navigation lets visitors explore your work before making contact.

An architect’s website is not built like a shop website. It needs to combine high-resolution photographs, a visual journey through projects, performance and factual content. Titles, professional information and each person’s role are checked with the practice before publication.

The form can also ask, without excessive collection, for the project type, location, indicative budget and timeframe. Automated qualification remains optional: its criteria, data and human validation are defined with the practice before activation.

OUR APPROACH

A website that tells the story of your architectural signature

Premium visual portfolio

A project gallery with optimised high-resolution photos, navigation by type (residential, commercial, public) and a detailed page for each project.

High-resolution performance

AVIF/WebP formats, screen-appropriate dimensions, progressive loading and a CDN. Performance is measured on pages and devices representative of the project.

Signature identity

An understated, minimalist visual identity that highlights your projects without getting in the way. Typography, colours and grids consistent with your architectural approach.

Local SEO in Brussels and Walloon Brabant

Optimisation for ‘architect + municipality’: Uccle, Ixelles, Waterloo, Lasne and Rixensart. Schema.org Architect markup with project geolocation.

Professional framework

Titles, registration number, project roles and practice information are checked against its actual situation. The professional validates content before publication.

Qualification form

A form adapted to the project type, indicative budget, timeframe and municipality. The practice receives useful context before the first conversation.

PRACTICE TYPES

Websites adapted to each positioning

Solo architect / small practice

A compact portfolio (10 to 20 projects), a clear personal profile and a focus on individual style. A website designed for private residential clients.

Architectural practice (5 to 15 people)

A portfolio across project types, team presentation and distinctive expertise. A website designed for premium private clients and public commissions.

Interior architect

Showcasing materials, atmosphere and details through carefully crafted visuals. A clear distinction from an architect registered with the Order of Architects.

Heritage / renovation specialist practice

Highlighting heritage expertise, URBAN/UPN-FNCAA approvals and experience with complex planning permissions.

Sustainable / passive-house architect

Highlighting certifications actually held, materials used and projects meeting specific standards.

Multidisciplinary practice (architecture and urban planning)

Architecture, urban planning and landscape. A website with sections by discipline and a multidisciplinary team presentation.

METHOD

A portfolio built in four phases

Phase 1 · Art direction

Reviewing your approach, selecting 12 to 20 flagship projects, planning the visual journey and choosing an understated typographic grid. Optional: professional photography of projects not yet photographed (approximately €1,800 to €3,500 excluding VAT, depending on volume).

Phase 2 · Design and project copy

Responsive mock-ups for desktop, mobile and tablet. Project descriptions covering the brief, floor area, budget, challenges, solutions and captioned photos. Roles and professional information are validated by the practice.

Phase 3 · Development and high-resolution optimisation

Astro development, AVIF/WebP optimisation with appropriate dimensions, CDN and lazy loading. A performance budget is defined and checked on representative pages.

Phase 4 · Launch and visibility

Launch, Schema.org Architect/Person markup, Bing/Google submission, Google Business Profile optimisation and initial traffic monitoring. One hour of training to add projects independently.

FAQ

Architects’ frequently asked questions

How much does an architect’s website cost in Brussels?
For a solo architect with 10 to 15 projects: €3,200 to €4,800 excluding VAT for a premium portfolio website. For a practice of 5 to 15 people with 20 to 40 projects and a team presentation: €5,500 to €9,500 excluding VAT. Professional photography of unphotographed projects is optional (€1,800 to €3,500 excluding VAT, depending on volume). A detailed quotation follows a 30-minute video call.
Why Astro rather than WordPress for an architect’s website?
Astro generates static pages with little visitor-side JavaScript, which suits an image-rich portfolio. WordPress can also perform well when properly designed and maintained. The choice therefore depends on the independence required, integrations and maintenance model. No technology is presented as invulnerable.
Can I add new projects independently?
Yes. We can provide a CMS interface or an editorial workflow with a project-page template. Your level of independence depends on permissions, approvals and image processing. Training accompanies the selected tool.
How are architects’ professional requirements taken into account?
We check titles, registration, the practice’s role on each project and the information appropriate to its situation together with the practice. Content remains factual and is validated by the professional. This editorial review does not replace advice from the Order on a specific professional ethics question.
How can the website generate more qualified enquiries?
Three approaches can complement each other: local content aligned with areas actually served, a form requesting useful information without excessive collection, and an up-to-date Google Business Profile. Review requests remain neutral and go only to real clients, without selection based on expected satisfaction.
Does an architect’s website need a blog?
Not necessarily. The portfolio remains the priority. An editorial section becomes relevant when the practice can maintain precise, dated content on its expertise, methods or regulatory developments. Frequency is set by available resources, not a universal schedule.
