01 · The context

Welcoming visitors into the world of the atelier.

Based in the Bascule neighbourhood since 2001, Couture Bascule offers clothing alterations, fitting adjustments and transformations. Its work also includes home textiles and prototype assembly from supplied patterns.

The website needs to make these skills easy to understand while preserving the direct relationship with Farah. First-person writing explains what she can examine, what to bring and how to prepare a visit to the atelier.

02 · The design choices

An identity that starts
with the client’s craft.

Sewing patterns as a visual language

An ivory background, cutting lines, dotted marks and burgundy thread create an identity inspired by pattern paper. The drawn silhouettes also help visitors choose their type of piece in the enquiry guide.

Materials in the foreground

Serif typography accompanies images of fabrics, techniques and finishes. These generated illustrations set the atmosphere and are identified as such; they do not depict Farah or customers’ pieces.

Several levels of detail

The homepage presents five service categories. Four dedicated pages then cover alterations, fitting adjustments and transformations, home textiles and prototype assembly, with advice and frequently asked questions.

03 · The service journey

Start with a piece, arrive with a clear enquiry.

The guide turns a common question into a prepared first conversation. It takes the visitor through to the contact form.

  1. Choose the piece

Trousers, a jacket or coat, a dress or skirt, home textiles or a design to assemble: the journey begins with a familiar object.

  2. Describe the need

The choices adapt to the piece. Advice explains what to prepare, such as the shoes to bring when deciding on a hem length.

  3. Prepare the message

The form carries over the selected piece and requirement. The visitor adds further information before sending the enquiry.

  4. Continue at the atelier

The address, opening hours and directions remain easy to find. The possibilities, price and timescale are confirmed with Farah after she has examined the piece.
